About Me

Early Life

Allie Jo Hail is an American actress, screenwriter and director. She started acting at the age of five in local and school theater shows and camps in her hometown Louisville, KY, where she attended Kentucky Country Day School (KCD) for her entire K-12 education. In high school she directed musicals such as A Very Potter Musical and High School Musical, while also acting in many of the school’s shows. One of these shows was The Miracle Worker where she not only played Helen Keller but found a new love and passion for the world of acting.

Shortly after graduation she ventured into film and television acting, where she took small roles in shows such as Shameless (U.S) (2017) and House of Cards (2018), and she earned her first acting credits in the films Yes, God, Yes (2019), recipient of the Special Jury Prize winner at South by Southwest, and Body Swap (2019), winner of the Platinum Remi Award at WorldFest Houston (Best feature film-Comedy).

College Years

In 2020 she graduated from The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts where she earned a degree is Acting for Film and Television (NYCDA) and first began to dabble in screenwriting.  While attending the school she wrote, directed and starred in the 2-episode web series Generation A (2020), which was sadly cut short due to the covid-19 pandemic. However, she learned the ins and outs of filmmaking from start to finish.

Recent Days

She recently completed the screenplay for the Short Film White as a Ghost a glimpse into the not-so glamorous side of dating and young love, in New York City. Many of her pieces lean into the darker elements of being a teen and 20-something year old, shedding light on the stories many people might consider taboo. This is the genre she enjoys working within the most as it allows a unique opportunity to explore often untold stories and share them with the world.
